Ready for Baptism?

“All of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ.” (Galatians 3:27, CEB)

What Is Baptism?

Baptism is a sacred and meaningful step in the Christian faith. It is an outward expression of an inward transformation—symbolizing a believer’s decision to follow Jesus Christ and their acceptance of God’s grace. Through baptism, Christians publicly declare their faith and identify themselves with the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus.

What Does Baptism Symbolize?

  1. New Life in Christ
Going under the water represents dying to an old way of life, and rising from the water represents being made new through Christ.

  2. Cleansing and Forgiveness
Water symbolizes the cleansing of sin and the spiritual renewal that comes through a relationship with Jesus.

  3. Belonging to God’s Family
Baptism is a celebration shared by the church community. It marks one’s entrance into the family of believers and the beginning of a lifelong journey of faith.

Why Do Christians Get Baptized?

Jesus Himself was baptized, and He commanded His followers to do the same. Baptism is an act of obedience and a personal declaration that one has chosen to follow Him. While baptism does not earn salvation, it is an important step in growing deeper in faith and commitment.

Who Should Be Baptized?

Adults and older children are baptized after personally choosing to trust and follow Jesus. If you are interested in dedicating your infant or young child as a sign of God’s grace and the family’s commitment to raise them within the Christian faith, please contact the office.
